I'm not entirely sure what it is about Aion that's caught me so far, but it has. Is it the PVE/PVP? Is it the wings? Is it the grindy-ness that does actually pay off? It IS gorgeous in it's own way but repetitive. Still, I consider this a great game and something I've been really enjoying. It's not to everyone's taste however.

New, shiny, quests that are actually fairly humorous, moderately entertaining chainable combos that make for patterned attacks. It's a fairly goods solitaire game that you can play with friends. If that's what you like, it's perfect. :) Almost as good as Diablo 2, with better chat tools. D3 has the potential to kick its pants all down the stairs.
It's a PvP game. From what I've seen, combos are the way of introducing tension into a mechanic that has traditionally been void of it -- instant attacks. This applies to melee abilities especially, but also caster spells. Breaking a chain when the first tier has a cooldown means losing the power of later tiers, but maintaining it means lack of flexibility.
